Full Plate Travel

Travel for the woman who can’t just “take a sabbatical.”
When you’re caregiving, working, parenting, or all three at once, “rest” usually means a weekend where you didn’t fight with anyone and slept five hours. The travel content that tells you to take three months in Bali is not for you. This category is.
Full Plate Travel is about the rest you can actually take. Long weekends. Quiet drives. Cabins within ninety miles. The trips that don’t require you to set up a whole replacement caregiver squad. Sometimes a real vacation. Often not.
I write about how to plan a caregiver-friendly getaway without setting fire to your real life, cheap and not-so-cheap places to actually unwind (with honest takes on what was worth the money and what wasn’t), how to negotiate the time off without guilt — including the conversations I’ve had with my own family — and what I bring, what I leave behind, and what I learned from my last trip that I’ll never repeat.
You don’t need a passport. You need a window of time where no one is calling your name. Sometimes the trip is a Sunday alone at a state park. Sometimes it’s seven days where someone else is in charge of dinner.
Either way, you’ve earned it. Let me help you plan it.
