Life, Health, & Perspective

The category that started this blog.
Some days the most useful thing I can do for a tired woman on the internet is not give her a tool, not give her a budget, not even hand her a meal plan. Some days she needs someone to say the quiet part out loud — that caregiving is lonely, that grief leaks into ordinary moments, that the body keeps the receipts on what we’ve been carrying.
That’s what lives here.
You’ll find personal essays on what caregiving really looks like — not the version we put online but the one that wakes us at 3 a.m. Honest reflections on the health work I’ve done in my own body — including a year of breast cancer treatment and recovery — and what I wish I’d known a decade earlier. Perspective pieces: what changed for me when I shifted how I saw a hard season, a relationship, a setback, my own enoughness. And the faith-and-doubt posts — the ones I almost don’t publish, the ones a few of you write me about months later to say you needed to read.
I don’t write to perform wellness. I write because writing is how I figure things out, and sometimes what I figure out is worth handing to you. If you find yourself in the comments saying “thank god I’m not the only one” — that’s the whole point of this category.
Welcome to the longer-form, slower-read corner of the site. Make a cup of something hot. We’re going to talk about real things.
